Icon of The Seas Turned 1. Here’s How Royal Caribbean is Celebrating
Royal Caribbean International is celebrating the first anniversary of its groundbreaking ship, Icon of the Seas. This vessel marks the debut of the Icon Class and showcases numerous industry innovations across eight unique neighborhoods. Highlights include the inaugural Chief Dog Officer with Rover, the Ultimate Family Townhouse, the first waterpark at sea, the first suspended infinity pool at sea, and the cruise line's first swim-up bar at sea.
To commemorate this special occasion, Royal Caribbean has compiled fun facts about Icon’s first year.
Over the past 365 days, Icon has welcomed 192,000 families onboard
made stops at 180 destinations
made 52 visits to Perfect Day at Coco Cay
celebrated 7,900 birthdays onboard
held 449 performances of Aqua Action, including 28,737 high-flying Aqua dives
had 208 curtain calls for performances of “The Wizard of Oz” and “Showband,”
served 55,250 milkshakes
performed 426 ice shows
served 44,070 drinks at the Lime and Coconut Bars
served 1,594,567 ice cream cones at Sprinkles
seen nearly 15,000 Crown's Edge plunges
held 96 dinner parties at Celebration Table,
And the adventure doesn’t stop with Icon of the Seas.
In August 2025, Royal Caribbean will launch the next Icon-class ship Star of the Seas in Port Canaveral, Fla.. Star will offer seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean vacations with visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay and will feature Icon Class favorites including eight neighborhoods, more than 40 ways to dine and drink and Crown’s Edge.
Star of the Seas will also introduce new experiences too like “Back to the Future: The Musical” and the Chicago-inspired Lincoln Park Supper Club.
