Universal’s Sapphire Falls Resort is a moderately priced resort located just outside Universal City Walk and Islands of Adventure Theme Park. It is currently the only moderately priced hotel at Universal Orlando Resort.

Sapphire Falls has a Caribbean theme with colorful lobby, tropical themed pool, and well appointed rooms. You’ll find similar amenities in the Premier hotels at Universal Orlando but an important distinction is that Sapphire Falls does not come with free Universal Express Pass Unlimited.

Arrival and Lobby Areas

Sapphire Falls Resort is decorated with a Caribbean theme.

The lobby furniture is bright and colorful with plenty of natural sunlight.

The Vacation Planning Center inside the lobby is where you’ll pick up your theme park tickets. Team Members are available to answer any last-minute questions you have.

Just off the lobby you’ll find a massive spiral staircase leading to dining options and the pool.

Even though this staircase ties in with the Caribbean theme of the hotel, to me it feels like it belongs in a Harry Potter movie.

The Caribbean theme of Sapphire Falls extends to outside as well with stone walls and lanterns leading the way to the pool.

Sapphire Falls has 1000 guest rooms and 83 suites. Rooms have a simple, relaxed design with imaginative touches.

Suites range in size from 529 square feet to a sprawling 1,353 square feet.

Standard rooms come in 3 categories: Standard View, Pool View and Lagoon View. Most rooms have two queen beds and sleep up to 4 guests.

Standard rooms are 325 square feet.

The separate bath and vanity areas allow multiple people to get ready at the same time.

Rooms are accessed via interior hallways.

The kids suite features a king bed and two twin beds in a separate bedroom. The two separate rooms are connecting and feature a single entrance to the adult room.

The children's room opens only into the adult’s room, and not into the hallway.

This 529 square foot room leaves plenty of space for the entire family.

Kids Suites sleep up for 5 guests with a rollaway bed. An additional fee applies for the rollaway.

The King Suite features a separate sitting area, and 595 square feet of roomy comfort.

The Sapphire Suite sleeps up to 5 and offers 851 square feet of space.

Sapphire falls Room Rates

NIght room rates vary by season, day of the week and the current booking status of the hotel.

On low end, late summer and fall, the rate for a standard room is about $283. During peak season such as spring break, Easter,a nd Christmas, the nightly rate for a standard room is about $438 per night.

Lagoon View and Pool Views are approximately $20 more per night than a Standard View room.

Kids Suites start around $500 per night at Sapphire Falls.

Sapphire Falls Resort staff will offer a variety of activities including hula-hoop contests, poolside moves, splash contests, and more.

Private cabana’s available for rent.

This complimentary fitness center offers all equipment needs for a cardio-vascular workout routine.

Additional amenities include separate locker rooms for men and women with full amenities, towels, and a quiet lounge area. Each locker room has its own dry sauna and showers.

Sapphire Falls Resort offers a wide array of restaurant and lounge options.

Amatista Cookhouse, a full-service restaurant that offers scenic water views and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Strong Water Tavern, a lobby lounge and bar hosts a tapas inspired menu, ceviche bar and rum tastings.

The New Dutch Trading Co. is a Caribbean-style grab-and-go marketplace featuring ready to go meals.

The Drhum Club Kantine, a pool bar and grill offers a fresh seafood inspired menu and custom drinks.

There’s a Universal Studios Store just off the lobby.

Theme Park Transportation

Complimentary boat transportation is provided to Universal City Walk, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Studios. There is also a walking path.

It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Sapphire Falls to City Walk and the theme parks.

Bus transportation is provided to Volcano Bay water park.

An Avis Rent A Car office is located onsite and Uber / Lyft are widely available.

Sapphire Falls Resort is located about 25 minutes from Orlando International Airport and about 20 minutes from the Walt Disney World Resort.
