Prior to its Puerto Rican stop, the LNG-powered ship also conducted a technical visit to Cadiz, Spain.
The vessel, delivered by the Meyer Turky shipyard in July 2025, is set to welcome its first paying passengers on August 16, 2025.
On that date, it will commence a series of preview cruises from its homeport at Port Canaveral, featuring three- and four-night itineraries that include stops at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.
Following its preview cruises, the Star of the Seas will be christened by singer and actress Diana Ross, its godmother, before embarking on its maiden official cruise on August 31, 2025.
As the second ship in the Icon-class series, Star of the Seas is designed to offer weeklong Caribbean voyages from Port Canaveral. The itineraries will cover a variety of destinations in both the Western and Eastern Caribbean, including San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Cozumel, Mexico; and Basseterre, St. Kitts. Royal Caribbean continues to expand the Icon-class fleet, with two more ships expected to join Star of the Seas in the near future, promising to further enhance Caribbean cruising options from Florida.
The first to debut will be the new Legend of the Seas, scheduled to begin service in the Mediterranean in 2026.
This ship will mark a significant addition to Royal Caribbean's fleet, offering enhanced features and experiences tailored to the Mediterranean cruising market.
Following the Legend of the Seas, a fourth, yet-to-be-named vessel is planned to enter service in 2027, continuing the expansion and modernization of the fleet.
Both ships are expected to deliver innovative amenities and cutting-edge design, further elevating the cruising experience for guests in the upcoming years.
