Festival of the Lion King Show Returning to Animal Kingdom
Festival of the Lion King Returning to WDW
There has been a steady increase of travelers to Walt Disney World since reopening last summer. I’m in the parks every week and I can honestly say that Disney is able to manage safety protocols well. To date, there have been no outbreaks traced back to Disney World, according to the Orange County Dept. of Health.
Over the next few months, more hotels will be reopening, a new version of Extra Magic Hours is coming, Blizzard Beach is reopening, and I’m hearing that a few more things will be coming back as well. I can’t share them just yet, but stay tuned.
And this week I learned that the Harambe Theatre at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park will once again host Festival of the Lion King this summer.
When it returns, Festival of the Lion King will be presented in a modified format to be mindful of the current environment. There will be adjustments to the show on stage and backstage, including updates to choreography to allow for appropriate physical distancing.
Disney says it will also adjust how the audience is seated, in line with other theater-based experiences at Walt Disney World Resort.
Frozen Sing-Along at Hollywood Studios is a perfect example of how well Disney can manage theater performances. Just be sure to arrive at early, with reduced capacity theaters fill up fast.
