Video: A Look Back at Walt Disney World Reopenings in 2021
So many experiences returned to Walt Disney World in 2021. Here’s a look back at some of the most popular venues guests can now enjoy at the Vacation Kingdom.
Walt Disney World continues to bring more entertainment, dining options and hotels online.
It’s hard to believe but for the first half of 2021 we didn’t have fireworks at Magic Kingdom or at Epcot. I am thrilled to have them back, plus they are new shows!
Here’s a fun look back at some of my favorite things that returned in 2021.
2022 promises even more magic as we anticipate new attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind at Epcot, Fantasmic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. Stay tuned for even more updates throughout the year.

What You Need to Know About 2022 Disney World Reservations
2022 Disney World Vacation Packages Available Now
As I reported earlier this morning, you can now book a 2022 Walt Disney World Resort vacation package. I have more updates to share.
Here’s what you need to know for Disney World 2022 Reservations
You can book your Disney World reservation up to 500 days in advance.
There are no Disney dining plans being offered…yet.
Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside and Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter remain unavailable for booking at this time.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is unavailable for booking at this time.
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is unavailable for booking at this time.
Disney’s All Star Music and Disney’s All Star Sports are unavailable for booking at this time.
Park Pass reservations are still required.
Disney’s Magical Express and Luggage Delivery Service will no longer be offered.
Disney’s Minnie Van Service will not be offered
There will not be Evening Extra Magic Hours. It doesn’t appear that the parks will have extended evening hours as of right now.
Each park will open 30 minutes early exclusively for Disney World Resort guests.
All normal cancelation / modification policies will be in effect.
This is what we know as of today, but things are likely to change by the time we get to 2022. In my professional opinion, I think we will see the return of the Disney Dining Plans, and that Park Pass reservations will go away.
I also predict that there will be some form of evening Extra Magic Hours at some point. Prior to the pandemic, Disney was experimenting with special, paid, evening events. So we may hear more about that as we approach 2022.
It’s also worth noting that there are great offers available for 2021 and that starting on October 1, 2021 Walt Disney World turns 50 years old! So 2021 is still a great year to come visit Mickey!
Disney is preparing for major refurbishments and new ideas, but some attractions will need to close.
