Where to Dine for Free on Royal Caribbeanâs Utopia of the Seas
Sailing on Royal Caribbeanâs Utopia of the Seas? You donât have to spend extra to eat well! I explored every included dining spot onboard â from buffets and pizza to tacos and elegant dinners. Hereâs my first-hand guide to the best free restaurants so you can plan your perfect foodie cruise.
If youâre like me, one of the best parts of cruising is the food. And on Royal Caribbeanâs Utopia of the Seas, thereâs no shortage of incredible included dining options. Thatâs right â many of the best meals onboard are already covered in your cruise fare. As someone who loves both eating well and saving money, I made it my mission to try all the Utopia of the Seas restaurants where you can dine for free.
Below, Iâm sharing my favorites â from poolside snacks to elegant dinners â so you can plan your foodie adventure at sea.
Windjammer Marketplace
The Windjammer is my go-to spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Itâs buffet-style, with a massive variety of dishes from around the world. I love grabbing a plate of fresh fruit in the morning or sampling new international flavors at night.
Main Dining Room
Every evening brings a new three-course menu â and itâs all included. Think lobster tail on formal night, filet mignon, or escargot. The atmosphere is beautiful, but thereâs no strict dress code, so I often keep it casual.
Sorrentoâs Pizza
Located on the Royal Promenade, Sorrentoâs serves pizza until late at night. Perfect after a show or a few hours of dancing.
CafÊ Promenade
Open 24 hours, this spot keeps me fueled with coffee, pastries, and light bites.
Park CafÊ
Tucked in Central Park, itâs quieter and perfect for breakfast or a light lunch. Donât miss the fresh salads and sandwiches.
Solarium Bistro
Mediterranean-inspired and steps from the adults-only Solarium â I come here for fresh Greek salads, tzatziki, and lamb chops.
El Loco Fresh
Poolside tacos, burritos, and nachos? Yes, please.
Boardwalk Dog House
Gourmet hot dogs with a variety of toppings. A must-try on a sunny day.
The Spare Tire
This new poolside food truck has incredible pulled pork sandwiches and flatbreads.
Room Service (Some Items)
Continental breakfast is free â great for slow mornings on the balcony.

If youâre planning a Royal Caribbean cruise from Florida, make sure you save this list. The free dining on Utopia of the Seas is worth the trip alone.

What to Do in Nassau Bahamas WITHOUT a Cruise Excursion (2025 Walking Tour)
Explore Nassau, Bahamas without a shore excursion! Here's what cruise passengers can see on foot, from the Straw Market to Atlantis and more.
Today Iâm in Nassau, Bahamas, and I donât have a single excursion booked. But hereâs the thingâĻ I donât need one. Iâm going to show you a few places you can explore all on your own, and have a great time on your port day, especially if youâre a first-time cruiser.
Hello and welcome back to the channel, and welcome to Nassau. Most of the cruisers are headed off to beach resorts, but I like to walk around the port area in the morning, then head back to the ship for lunch and enjoy the ship with fewer people onboard. Whether you're cruising with Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruise Line, or Norwegian, everything I visit today is close to the cruise port.
Here are 6 things you can do without an excursion in Nassau.
Port Marketplace, Nassau Bahamas
Watch my video tour of Nassau, Bahamas:
#6 Port Marketplace
Once youâre on the pier you'll walk straight into the brand new Port Marketplace â and this is a huge upgrade from what Nassau used to be like.
The Bahamian Port Authority recently gave this entire area a major facelift. Itâs cleaner, better organized, and feels a lot safer and more welcoming than it did just a few years ago.
Youâll find colorful buildings and plenty of shops selling local souvenirs, T-shirts, tropical drinks, ice cream, artisan soaps, seashells, and jewelry.
Thereâs even a designated area for hair braiding now â something that used to take place in a makeshift park across the street in a park. Now itâs all been moved into a proper space right here in the marketplace, which makes the whole experience more comfortable for everyone. Braids start around $40. While my wife gets her hair braided, my son and I like to walk around and check out the different stalls.
The Global Porter is one of my favorites - itâs one of the larger shops in the port - itâs like a department store with things you can wear, collectables, and even things for your house. The Port Marketplace leads you to the Straw Market and taxi depot. Itâs so easy to find the Straw Market now.
Straw Market is a legendary destination for purchasing souvenirs in Nassau.
#5 Straw Market
And speaking of the Straw Market, now is a great time to walk across the street and check it out. So, here you leave the actual port complex, and youâre officially in the city of Nassau. This indoor market is packed wall-to-wall with vendors selling things like handwoven straw bags, hats, wood carvings, T-shirts, and souvenirs with your favorite island slogans.
Itâs lively, itâs crowded, and yes â it can feel a little overwhelming if youâre not used to being in close quarters. But thatâs part of the experience.
Most of the items you see here are negotiable, so donât be afraid to politely haggle. Just keep in mind â many of the vendors are selling very similar merchandise, so take your time, compare prices, and if youâre after something unique or handmade, be sure to ask who made it.
The Straw Market isnât air-conditioned, so if youâre looking for that classic Bahamian market atmosphere, this is it.
Straw work has been part of island life here for centuries, But the actual Straw Market as we know it began in the 1940s, when the tourism industry started to grow and locals began selling their handwoven crafts directly to visitors.
This all started with a handful of women selling handmade goods under umbrellas. Today, itâs a symbol of local entrepreneurship, especially for Bahamian women. Youâll notice that the stalls in here are all women-owned, keeping the tradition alive even today.
I hope I donât spoil any nostalgia here, but the current building is actually relatively new, built after a devastating fire destroyed the original structure in 2001.
And while you will find plenty of mass-produced souvenirs these days, thereâs still genuine handmade work here if you look for it â like intricately woven bags, dolls, and even name-customized items made right on the spot.
Itâs well worth a walk through if you want to take home something with a story behind it.
Once youâve had your fill of browsing the Straw Market, itâs an easy walk just a few blocks west along the waterfront to one of Nassauâs newest attractions â the Margaritaville Beach Resort.
#4 British Colonial Hotel
On the way to Margaritaville, youâll pass by the beautiful British Colonial Hotel.
This modern, family-friendly spot is open to the public, and even if youâre not staying here, thereâs plenty you can check out â including the lobby and grounds.. Letâs head that way.â
If you're a hotel buff like I am, youâll love the details here â elegant columns, polished marble floors, a painted ceiling above the check-in desk, and thoughtfully curated artwork throughout.
The British Colonial Hotel was originally built in 1924 on the site of Old Fort Nassau, which dated back to the 1600s. The fort was demolished, and the hotel was constructed as part of Nassauâs growing appeal to international travelers.
Over the decades, itâs hosted British royalty, world leaders, and Hollywood stars. In fact, it even had a cameo in the James Bond film 'Never Say Never Again' with Sean Connery.
After a few ownership changes and a closure during the pandemic, the hotel underwent a major renovation and reopened in 2024, restoring much of its historic charm while adding modern amenities.
The British Colonial Hotel was considered Nassauâs most luxurious hotel for many years.
Now, while the hotel does technically have a beachfront, itâs not exactly the postcard-perfect Bahamas setting. Youâre basically looking out over the harbor and the cruise ships. Still, for anyone who enjoys a bit of architecture and history â or just wants to cool off in a gorgeous air-conditioned space â the British Colonial is a great stop on your Nassau walking tour.
Margaritaville in Nassau offers a vibrant island escape with tropical drinks, live music, and waterfront dining in a laid-back Caribbean setting.
#3 Margaritaville Resort
Just a few more minutes down the road and weâve arrived at Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau â one of the most popular new stops for cruise travelers looking to enjoy some off-ship relaxation.
Even if youâre not staying here, the lobby is open to the public â and itâs definitely worth walking through. Youâll find that signature Margaritaville flip-flop - each resort has one in a unique color. Ours in Orlando is ruby red. : Itâs great for some photo ops while you're here.
Just beyond the lobby, the resort opens up to an impressive pool deck and water park that overlooks the harbor. Thereâs a lazy river, water slides, a FlowRider surf simulator, and plenty of loungers and cabana rentals if youâre just looking to chill.
Now, hereâs the important part â you canât access the pool or water park unless you purchase a day pass, which is available directly through the resort or through some cruise lines as an excursion add-on. Prices vary, but itâs generally one of the more expensive day pass options in Nassau - somewhere around $120 per person.
Still, even without a pass, walking through Margaritaville is a great way to soak in some tropical energy, grab a drink at the bar, or just enjoy exploring a nice hotel before heading back toward the ship.
Bay Street in Nassau is a bustling thoroughfare known for its vibrant marketplaces, duty-free shops, and colorful colonial architecture.
#2 Bay Street
On the way back weâll stop at Bay Street to hit the shops. But first, I see one more attraction I must stop at âDairy Queen. I love Dairy Queen - itâs the one chain restaurant we donât have in Orlando, so I have to make a stop. And just for fun, thereâs even a McDonalds across the street.
I pass by the Pirates of Nassau Museum, Iâve been here before and itâs a great time - lots of detailed exhibits inside, and itâs especially fun for kids. Itâs just a block off Bay Street is one of Nassauâs most unique attractions.
It dives into the Golden Age of Piracy â when Nassau was once a real pirate stronghold. If you think learning about some real pirates is pretty cool, hit that like button.
As we make our way back toward the heart of town, weâre walking along Bay Street, Nassauâs main shopping corridor â and, this is where youâll find the usual mix of jewelry stores, designer brands, and locally-owned souvenir shops.
If youâre looking for Pandora charms, perfume, watches, or luxury sunglasses, youâll find them here â often at better prices than back home.. Just be prepared: some shops can be a bit pushy, especially the larger jewelry retailers that cater heavily to cruise passengers.
Youâll also spot smaller, independent shops selling T-shirts, sneakers, rum cakes, and handmade goods, though prices can vary.
Even if youâre not shopping, Bay Street is a great place for people-watching and soaking in a bit of the local rhythm. Itâs one of the busiest streets in Nassau â and it connects many of the attractions weâve been visiting today.
The casino at Atlantis Resort offers a vibrant gaming experience with a wide range of slots, table games, and poker in an upscale, tropical setting.
#1 Atlantis Resort
Atlantis is pretty much an all-morning visit by itself, maybe combined with a walk down Bay Street. Rather than take a taxi, we hopped on a water taxi right from the pier to Paradise Island â the easiest and most scenic way to get to Atlantis Resort from the cruise port.
The boat ride itself is half the fun. Youâll cruise right past the harbor and get up close and personal with the massive cruise ships â itâs a whole different perspective seeing them from the water.
Once you arrive at Atlantis, there are a few things you can explore without a day pass. The Marina Village is open to the public â a pastel-colored shopping and dining district where you can stroll past luxury yachts. Thereâs a Starbucks here with indoor and outdoor seating.
Inside Atlantis, you enter through and browse high-end shops like Balenciaga, Rolex, and other designer names.
The casino is also open to the public, and youâre free to play here. If you came on a Disney ship and miss having a casino, this is your chance to try your luck. Even if youâre not playing casino games, you can still walk through and enjoy the air conditioning and sculptures.
That said, the main parts of the resort â including the aquarium, water park, hotel lobby, and beach access â are all off-limits unless youâve purchased a day pass or are staying at the resort. A pass to the water park, beach, and pool will run about $250 per person.
Still, itâs a fun little adventure, and the whole experience â including the boat ride â makes it feel like youâve gone much farther from port than you actually have
So there you have it â a few places to explore while walking around in Nassau, all on foot or by water taxi, and no excursion needed. From local shopping to historic hotels, from resort walk-throughs to pirate history and yacht spotting, thereâs actually a lot you can see here on your own.
If itâs your first time in Nassau, here are a few quick tips:
âī¸ Wear sunscreen â the sun here is no joke, and youâll be walking a lot.
đĩ Bring small bills â cash is helpful at the Straw Market and for tipping, but most shops accept cards. US currency is fine.
đļ Donât be afraid to explore â most of the popular spots are within easy walking distance, and the area around the port has become much cleaner, safer, and more tourist-friendly in recent years.
đ¤ And if youâre up for it, take that water taxi to Atlantis. Even if you canât access the full resort, the views alone are worth the trip. Itâs a fun mini-excursion that you can do.

6 Tips for Royal Caribbean Cruises
My best tips for getting started with Royal Caribbean
Royal Caribbean is the worldâs largest cruise line. They pride themselves on creating premium family-friendly cruises with activities for everyone - from adults only to things families can enjoy together. But thereâs a lot to know when booking a cruise if you want to have a great time.
I help clients plan Royal Caribbean cruises every day and have a lot of experience in helping them get the most out of their vacation.
Here are my favorite tips for clients when getting started with a Royal Caribbean cruise.
#6 Book as early as possible
Cruise lines operate just like the airline industry in that they reward people who book early by offering lower fares. The best time to book a cruise is 12 - 18 months in advance.
Those who book early also have more choices when it comes to selecting a stateroom on the ship.
Last-minute cruise deals are not a thing anymore. They are very rare and often when you see them posted online, they are already sold out when you try to book.
#5 Use a travel agent
Using a Royal Caribbean travel agent is free! There are no built-in costs or hidden fees. I offer you expert, insider tips and professional responses to all your questions. Itâs like having your own personal account manager just for your vacation. Want me to plan your cruise with you? Get started here in one click.
#4 Buy beverage and internet packages in advance
Royal Caribbean offers adult beverage packages and soft drink packages. Package prices are higher onboard.
Bonus tip: wait a week or two after you book your cruise to see if you get an email offer for discounted beverage packages. If you get an email, forward it to me so I can apply it to your reservation for you.
#3 Book a balcony stateroom
While it may be tempting to book an interior room or an oceanview room (porthole) to save money, a balcony room may cost just a little more. On the newer ships, there are more balcony staterooms than any other kind of room. Most of my clients who book non-balcony rooms, almost always try to upgrade later on (but see Tip #1).
#2 Arrive a day or two before the cruise
If you experience a flight delay or cancellation, the ship will leave without you if youâre late! You should never fly the same day you are cruising.
If youâre cruising from Orlando (Port Canaveral), why not make it a Land and Sea vacation? Spend a few days at Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando Resort and then embark on your cruise vacation. I help clients with Land and Sea vacations in Orlando all the time and have great recommendations for you.
#1 Book a cruise on an Oasis Class ship
Oasis Class ships have more than 16 decks, 20 restaurants, 7 distinct neighborhoods bustling with unique onboard experiences, and endless thrills to discover. These are the worldâs largest cruise ships so they offer something for everyone.
You can usually find at least one Oasis Class ship, sailing from Orlando and Miami, Florida but they do travel the world. You can also find them in Europe and Asia.

Augmented reality restaurant on Utopia of the Seas will take guests on a journey by train.
We now know that Utopia of the Seas will have a virtual train car dining experience that transports diners to the golden age of rail travel.

Your culinary experience begins in the âstationâ where you and other passengers will meet for drinks.
Shortly after, a whistle will blow, signifying your train has arrived and that itâs time to board.

Liberty of the Seas Review and Tips - Royal Caribbean
My best tips for sailing on Liberty of the Seas - Royal Caibbean
Ship Summary
Liberty of the Seas is one a middle-aged cruise ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet. known for its vast array of onboard amenities and activities. Built in 2007 by Royal Caribbean, Liberty of the Seas was the largest cruise ship ever built at the time, joining her sister ship, Freedom of the Seas. She can carry 3,600 guests and 1,360 crew. Shortly after, Independence of the Seas was delivered rounding out the Freedom Class ship category in Royal Caribbeanâs fleet.
Her last major refurbishment was in 2016 but she missed an important update scheduled for 2020 due to the pandemic.
Liberty is a fine ship, at one the pride and joy of Royal Caribbeanâs fleet, but today her staterooms feel a little dated and she has fewer features than her sister ships Freedom and Independence.
For this reason, Liberty usually has bargain fares.
Why Itâs Popular
Splashaway Bay Aquapark
Perfect Storm water slides
Ice skating rink
One of the few ships that still has Sabour Mexican Restaurant
Vitality Spa
Priced lower than other Freedom Class ships
Entertainment
Studio B (Deck 3, midship) is home to "Encore! An Ice Spectacular," which is performed twice on the cruise. You should arrive early to get a good seat, this is one of the most popular shows on the ship
Platinum Theater - Located on Decks 2, 3, and 4 aft. There are usually 2 performances of the show to accommodate early and late dinner seatings in the main dining room.
The popular shows are Broadwayâs Saturday Night Fever which will let you step back in time to the days when disco reigned supreme in New York, and In the Air â an awe-inspiring celebration of flight that blends dazzling special effects, fascinating history, and electrifying choreography in one high-flying production.
Throughout the ship, there are various entertainers from piano players, to comedians, and live bands that play everything from jazz to rock and roll.
Casino Royale - a popular spot at night for adults who want to try their luck at slots, video poker, and table games. I recommend that you Join Club Royale rewards program, youâll earn points every time you play. If you earn enough play, youâll likely get offers and invitations to special events and tournaments, VIP seating at shows, priority dining reservations, and even complimentary cruises for two.
Liberty of the Seas Where to Eat for Free
Windjammer Buffet - Pop in during the morning for scrambled egg Bhurji served with roti, or home-style crispy chicken and waffles. Refuel in between adventures with a refreshing watermelon and feta salad or classic fish and chips. Or sample your way from Italy to India with dishes like traditional chicken marsala, savory pork vindaloo, tangy duck a lâOrange, and flavorful Caribbean goat curry.
Main Dining Room - In Liberty of Seaâs Main Dining Room, you can experience a rotating menu of dishes always offering something unexpected. A multi-level restaurant that usually isnât too crowded compared to Windjammer. You can book My Time Dining - which allows you to show up whenever you like, or a seated time, early or late. I do not recommend My Time Dining because there is often a long line to get in. You can make a reservation for My Time Dining on Day 1, which will help compared to walking up without a one.
Sorrentoâs Pizza - Royal Caribbean has spent years perfecting the recipe at Sorrentoâs. Itâs great pizza! Order a slice or a whole pie, itâs all included at no extra cost to you.
Cafe Promenade - 24-hour coffee shop serving pastries and light sandwiches.
Liberty of the Seas Specialty Dining
Sabor Modern Mexican - A selection of small plates that include spicy beef empanadas, served with freshly grated tomato and garlic sauce. The fried chile calamari is a popular option. Sabor Modern Mexican lets you choose from a selection of proteins that come wrapped in house-made warm flour and corn tortillas. Go for the shredded beef short rib, spicy chicken, grilled cobia, succulent shrimp, or pulled pork â or mix and match a couple of each. Sabor cannot be found on the newer ships, so itâs great that the fan-favorite is still alive and well on Liberty of the Seas.
Chops Grill - As far as entrees go, the tender filet is one of the most popular items on the menu. If 9 ounces is a bit too much for you, opt for the smaller 6-ounce petite filet â it packs in just as much flavor as the standard cut. If youâre a traditionalist, complement your meal with an order of steaming Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and creamed spinach.
Giovanniâs Table - Every meal at Giovanniâs Table is served family-style. Youâll find all your favorite Old-World classics like traditional risotto finished with porcini and truffle mushroom tapenade, and veal osso buco paired with creamy cheese polenta, ripe tomatoes, and sautÊed green beans.
Staterooms on Liberty of the Seas
Rooms come in 4 categories on Liberty of the Seas
Inside - no exterior view
Oceanview - window with exterior view (most are on lower decks)
Balcony - the most popular
Suites - Includes special VIP perks and extra space
Rooms have a slightly dated feel with pastel colors that were popular in the 2000s like the dark green accents on the wall and bed linens.
Bathrooms are small, typical for most cruise ships, and feel a little worn.
Most rooms sleep between 2 and 4 guests and connecting rooms are available.
Pool and Recreation
The pool and recreation options on Liberty of the Seas offer a variety of activities for guests of all ages. The ship features several pools, including an adults-only retreat area, a family-friendly main pool, and a designated splash area for children. Guests can enjoy sunbathing on comfortable lounge chairs or seek shade under umbrellas.
Aside from the pools, Liberty of the Seas offers an array of recreational activities such as rock climbing, mini-golf, sports courts for basketball and volleyball, and a FlowRider surf simulator for those looking to catch some waves. Fitness enthusiasts can take advantage of the onboard gym facilities, fitness classes, and jogging track.
Whether you prefer lounging by the pool, staying active with sports, or trying your hand at something new like surfing, Liberty of the Seas provides a well-rounded selection of pool and recreation options to enhance your cruise experience.
My Top Ten Things to do on Liberty of the Seas
Movies under the stars poolside
Take in a show at one of the shipâs theaters
Try different restaurants, Liberty is known for great food
Karaoke at the On Air Club
Try your luck at the Casino
Scale the rock climbing wall
Relax in the adults-only Solarium
Let the kids play at Splashway Bay
Enjoy ice skating during open skate hours
Ride Perfect Storm and Tidal Wave water slides

Planning a vacation on the largest cruise ship in the world can feel overwhelming. Here are the basics to get you started.
The largest cruise ship in the world
Carrying an impressive 7,084 passengers plus 2,204 crew at any given time, there can be as many as 9,288 people onboard Wonder of the Seas.
Her 24 glass elevators whisk guests up and down her 16 decks. She rivals your local shopping mall in size and style.
To move a ship of this size, there are four engines, producing 7,500 horsepower each.
You can easily get overwhelmed when planning your cruise vacation, not just with things to do onboard the ship, but the itinerary and port adventures. In this guide, Iâll give you just the basics to get you started. For more expert advice, contact me to for a quote and answers to all your questions.
How is Wonder of the Seas different?
Wonder of the Seas is the 5th Oasis Class ship but unlike her sisters, she features a Suite Neighborhood with a Suite Lounge.
The ship also has a new dining option: Mason Jar Southern Restaurant and Bar, as well as a new underwater-themed play area, called Wonder Playscape.
This area has slides, climbing walls, games, and interactive activities for families to enjoy.
Wonder Dunes, Royal Caribbeanâs signature mini-golf course, has been added to the ship with a new look and features.
The totally redesigned Caribbean Pool Deck includes the new, cantilevered Vue Bar, a newly designed Splashaway Bay kids aqua park, and the adults-only Solarium is completely enclosed.
Things to do on Wonder of the Seas
Wonder of the Seas still features a FlowRider surf simulator, the Ultimate Abyss slide, a ten-story-high zip line, and twin rock climbing walls.
The biggest ship in the world is bringing the boldest bites at sea, with new dining concepts and a wide array of returning favorites.
Dining on Wonder of the Seas
Mason Jar | Wonder of the Seas
Wonder of the Seas offers all kinds of great cruise dining options for any craving or occasion, including Royal Caribbean favorites like Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, Giovanniâs Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine, and El Loco Fresh.
Thatâs in addition to a brand new option, Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar.
Family time onboard
Make the most of every moment at sea, with more to see, do, play and conquer. Like the all-new Wonder Playscape, an underwater-themed world with endless opportunities for kids to explore.
Wonder Dunes, where you can tee up under the stars for an immersive, story-based mini-golf experience like nothing you've played before.
The fleet-favorite FlowRider surf simulator. And the twisting, turning, fun-drenched thrills of The Perfect Storm waterslide trio.
Wonder of the Seas Staterooms
Relax, unwind and make yourself at home after a full day of adventure.
From deluxe amenities to breathtaking views, you'll find all the creature comforts you'd expect during your vacation â and some you probably haven't even thought of â in a range of rooms to suit your travel style.
Inside staterooms
The most economical staterooms onboard. Categories include either no view at all or rooms that have windows overlooking interior parts of the ship such as Royal Promenade or the Boardwalk.
Ocean View staterooms
These economical staterooms have window views of the ocean.
Ocean View Balcony staterooms
The most desirable stateroom category on Wonder of the Seas. There are more balcony staterooms than in any other category. Rooms have a sliding door that opens to a balcony with ocean views.
Interior View Balcony staterooms
Inside staterooms have an outside balcony overlooking the Boardwalk or Central Park neighborhoods. These rooms are not intended to have views of the ocean but some Boardwalk staterooms might have a partial, obstructed view of the water from the back of the ship.
Virtual Balcony staterooms
A Virtual Balcony is an 80-inch high-definition screen that spans nearly floor to ceiling. It has real-time views of the ocean and the shipâs destinations.
Suites
There are a number of 1 and 2-bedroom suites ranging from Junior Suites to Aqua Theather Suites, Ownerâs Suites, and Loft Suites. Most sites on Wonder of the Seas include access to the Suite Neighborhood, an exclusive area onboard just for suite guests.

Utopia of the Seas Floats! Next Stop: Orlando
When completed, Utopia of the Seas will be one of the largest cruise ships in the world. And sheâs calling Orlando, Florida home in 2024.
The worldâs biggest ship, Utopia of the Seas is now one step closer to its debut in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, in July 2024. This new Oasis Class ship floated for the first time at the Chantiers de lâAtlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
Bookings are already underway for Utopia of the Seas and summer cruises are going fast. Utopia will sail 3- and 4-night cruises to the Bahamas. Get your quote now.
Known as the float out, the key moment in the construction of Utopia took 17 months to reach.
The process itself took nearly 15 hours, beginning with filling the new shipâs dry dock with more than 46 million gallons of water overnight.
Utopia was then moved into an outfitting dock, where it will be completed in summer 2024.
Utopia will now begin to come to life as its highly anticipated features are installed, from the longest dry slide at sea â the 295-foot-long Ultimate Abyss â to a first-of-its-kind immersive train car dining experience.
The ultimate 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday getaway will be the first in the revolutionary Oasis Class to offer short escapes when it debuts in July 2024.
Every vacation will feature visits to Nassau, The Bahamas, and Perfect Day at CocoCay â Royal Caribbeanâs award-winning private island â that will feature its first adults-only slice of paradise, Hideaway Beach, starting in January 2024.

Orlando will be home to 2 of the largest cruise ships in the world: Utopia of the Seas and Wonder of the Seas.
Upon completion, Royal Caribbean's newest ship, Utopia of the Seas will become the third largest cruise ship in the world, measuring 1,188 feet long, 211 feet wide, and featuring 18 decks to accommodate 5,668 guests.

Utopia of the Seas
Wonder of the Seas

There is about 2,200 crew members so you could possibly be on a ship with 9,000+ people onboard.
âThank you so much for being so patient with us. We had a great first cruise. Your advice was spot on especially with the dining package. â

What's the Difference Between Disney Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean?
Disney Cruise Line vs. Royal Caribbean
Both Disney Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean dominate the market for family-friendly cruise vacations and they both deliver a premium family vacation experience unlike any of the other cruise lines out there.
They both have private islands in the Bahamas. Most Bhamaian and Caribbean cruises include a stop at their respective island. Disneyâs Castaway Cay is more tranquil and natural while Royalâs is more of a destination with restaurants, pools, water slides and of course, beaches.
People often ask me, which cruise line is better, Disney or Royal Caribbean? But itâs not about who is better, thatâs too subjective. Itâs about booking the vacation experience that appeals to you most.
Let me explain. There are basically 3 categories of cruises:
The inexpensive party cruises - popular with college kids.
Destination-rich cruises - popular with those enjoying their golden years.
Family-focused cruising - ships packed with exciting onboard activities.
Both Disney Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean are obviously family-focused.
But they also attract a number of active adults who want to be somewhere between college kids having a blast and a boatload of retirees who enjoy quietly reading at the pool.
Disney Wish | Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line is perfect for those with children ages 4 to 10.
But I would argue that Disney cruises are also ideal for Disney fans of all ages. Onboard experiences are centered around meeting Disney characters and Disney-themed shows.
Spaces onboard Disney cruise ships are highly themed environments, just like the theme parks. For example, on the Disney Wish, youâll dine in the royal banquet hall of Arendelle from Disneyâs Frozen film, or enjoy a drink in a Star Wars lounge thatâs truly out-of-this-world (pun intended).
Star Wars HyperSpace Lounge onboard the Disney Wish
The newer Disney ships have water coasters that circle the top deck along with pools and Disney movies that play all day on a giant movie screen called Funnel Vision.
AquaDuck water coaster onboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. The Disney Wish has a similar attraction.
Disney Cruise Line offers a very high level of service and attention to detail, even when going though the booking process.
One of the best features about DCL is that many standard staterooms can accommodate 4 to 5 guests. This is not the case with most other cruise lines. But Royal Caribbean offers plenty of connecting stateroom options for families.
While Disney Cruise Line is on the higher end of cruise fares, I think you will feel that you definitely feel that you got what you paid for.
If you have tweens or teens that are indifferent to Disney, Star Wars or Marvel, then I recommend Royal Caribbean.
Royal Caribbean
Wonder of the Seas, an Oasis Class Ship, is the largest cruise ship in the world | Royal Caribbean
Royal Caribbean is the largest cruise line in the world and offers ships that are designed specifically with family vacations in mind.
Royal specializes in variety. Ships are expertly designed to offer something for the entire family.
This is especially true on the Oasis Class ships, the largest cruise ships in the world.
Some Royal Caribbean ships offer things like zip lines across the top deck, pools, rock climbing walls, water slides, ice skating (on real ice - in a real rink!), laser-tag courses, escape room challenges, bumper cars, specialty restaurants like a hibachi steakhouse, wellness spas, lounges, and casinos.
Many Royal Caribbean ships offer onboard ice skating and ice skating performances
There are so many reasons to get excited about a Royal Caribbean cruise.
Royal Caribbeanâs ships are loaded from bow to stern with game-changing thrills but also offer theater shows, live entertainment, as well as next-level dining, and a high level of service. See Royal Caribbean my tips â¸
âThank you so much for being so patient with us. We had a great first cruise. Your advice was spot on especially with the dining package. â
Both Disney and Royal Caribbean offer a premium vacation experience with first-class activities and service.
They both dominate the Florida cruise market, departing from Port Canaveral (Orlando) and Miami but they each offer international itineraries too.
For example, Disney and Royal Caribbean sail to Alaska, the Mediterranean, Asia, and Mexico.

Royal Caribbean Dining and Beverage Package Tip
Tip for saving money on dining and beverage packages with Royal Caribbean
As a travel advisor specializing in Royal Caribbean, I spend a lot of time providing expert advice for my cruise clients. Hereâs one that comes up a lot: is it worth it to buy a dining or beverage package onboard the ship?
Royal Caribbean Beverage Package Tip
Royal Caribbean offers several packages, spa packages, dining packages, beverage packages, wifi packages, and more.
Now, whether or not they are worth it for your family is a different topic and I can work with you to help you figure that out. But in general, most people buy at least some type of onboard package.
I always get the soft-drink package because soda isnât free onboard, not even at dinner and I donât like alcohol. So for me, the price is reasonable enough. But hereâs how you can save money on these plans.
One of my favorite tips regarding onboard purchases is to wait on the beverage packages until after you book.
See, after you book your cruise (you remembered to book with a travel agent, right?) you will very likely receive an email from Royal Caribbean with onboard discounts that are available during your cruise.
Royal Caribbean Beverage Package Tip
Royal Caribbean usually sends this discount email only once, so if and when you receive it, be sure to act on it when it comes in.
If you already booked a beverage package, you can ask your travel agent to modify your package to the new lower rate for you.
âThank you so much for being so patient with us. We had a great first cruise. Your advice was spot on especially with the dining package. â

Which Royal Caribbean Ships Sail from Port Canaveral?
Royal Caribbean ships frequently found sailing from Orlando (Port Canaveral) Florida
Royal Caribbean has over 25 cruise ships and they are moved around the globe to reach different markets during different times of the year.
That being said, Independence of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas often sail from Orlando (Port Canaveral).
See my cruise ship guides and videos here â¸
During the busy cruise seasons, whenever schools are on a break, Royal Caribbean will usually run an Oasis Class ship out of Port Canaveral as well.
