Disney Dining Plans: How they work and are they worth the cost?
Most people want to know 2 things: How do they work? Are they worth the cost? Let’s get started…
Everyday I get questions about the Disney dining plans. They are the most challenging component of a Walt Disney World package. Most people want to know 2 things: How do they work? And are they worth the cost?
Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Well, in my experience at a travel advisor, those who purchase a dining plan find at least one of the following features appealing:
The all-inclusive nature of the dining plan
Ability to dine at the most popular Walt Disney World restaurants without worrying about costs adding up.
Transparent pricing - having a better idea of what the trip will cost well in advance.
I find that dining at Walt Disney World is the one vacation expense people do not sufficiently plan for.
Aside from being on vacation and having to eat all your meals in restaurants, you’re also a captive audience. Yeah, food costs a little more than if you were at home.
Why Disney offers dining plans
Disney’s goal is simple: the dining plans allow Disney to compete with the all-inclusive, family-friendly resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico.
Family cruises are extremely popular right now and of course, nearly everything is included in your cruise.
Introducing the 2024 Disney Dining Plans
Disney World currently has 2 dining plans:
Basic Disney Dining Plan (most popular)
Quick Service Dining Plan
California Grill at DIsney’s Contemporary Resort
Basic Disney Dining Plan:
Dining plans are per person and based on the number of package nights.
For each package night, each person will receive:
1 table service meal credit
1 quick service meal credit
1 snack or beverage credit
1 Resort-refillable mug per person in your package. Mugs are refilled at the self-service beverage station at your hotel's quick-service locations for the duration of the stay.
If you’re planning to do at least one Disney character meal, the Basic Disney Dining Plan is a great value. Most character meals cost 1 table service credit.
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe at Magic Kingdom
Disney Quick Service Dining Plan:
For each package night, each person will receive:
2 quick-service meal credits
1 snack or beverage credit
1 Resort-refillable mug per person in your package. Mugs are refilled at the self-service beverage station at your hotel's quick-service locations for the duration of the stay.
How the dining plans work
You prepay for the majority of your meals in the form of credits.
For example, if you book a 6-night vacation package with the Quick Service Dining Plan, everyone listed on your reservation will receive:
12 quick service credits
6 snack or beverage credits
If you include the Regular Disney Dining Plan on a 6-night package, everyone on the reservation will receive:
6 table service meal credits
6 quick service meal credits
6 snack or beverage credits
Now here’s the important part.
All of your dining and snack credits will be deposited into one account when you check in to your hotel.
You will track your credits using the Disney World mobile app. Credits can be used at any time during your stay, even on your check-out day.
When ordering at any Disney restaurant, Cast Members will ask if you are using your dining plan credits. You’ll then tap your MagicBand, phone, or Key to the World Card to have the restaurant deduct your credits.
Cost of the Disney Dining Plans at Walt Disney World
The cost of the Basic Disney Dining Plan is
$94.20 per night, per person (ages 10+)
$29.69 per night, per person (ages 3-9).
The cost of the Quick-Service Dining Plan is
$57.01 per night for adults (age 10+)
$23.83 per night for children (ages 3 to 9.)
Children ages 3-9 will order from the kid’s menu when available
How to save money with a Disney Dining Plan
The dining plans offer a lot of value, so they are not just about saving money these days.
Today, it’s more about convenience and transparent pricing.
Purchasing a dining plan probably won’t cost you more money than paying out of pocket. The dining plans cost about what you would spend if you paid out of pocket.
See, Disney’s profit is built into the menu prices at the restaurants. Disney doesn’t double-dip by making a profit on the menu and then again on the dining plan.
Remember, Disney’s goal is to capture families who like the idea of all-inclusive travel, not necessarily making record profits dining.
Now, I know some of you are going to try and stick it to the Mouse with the dining plan and try to come out ahead. Great! I think it would be a fun challenge!
Here are my best tips for the Disney dining plan:
Dine at the Epcot table service restaurants.
Book character meals, as they are super expensive! You can break even on the cost of the dining plan with just one character meal.
Table service credits are a better value when used at dinner because menu prices are higher than at breakfast and lunch. Plus dessert is included.
Use your snack credits at Starbucks inside the parks.
Order a glass of beer or wine with your meal when included.
Teppan Edo at Epcot
Are the Disney dining plans worth the cost?
The Disney Dining Plans for Light Eaters
The Disney dining plans are not about eating a lot, they are about simplifying your vacation and bundling your expenses into one package.
And for the salad lovers, keep in mind that fresh salads at Walt Disney World cost more than entrees.
For example, at Sunshine Seasons inside Epcot, the Rotisserie Chicken Club Sandwich is $11 and the Power Salad with Grilled Chicken is $13.
Paying out of pocket vs. a Disney Dining Plan
The trend among travelers today is that they want to relax and indulge a little but they don’t want a big bill looming over them at the end of the vacation.
The Disney dining plans give travelers a better understanding of what the trip will cost, well in advance, and it helps them develop a budget around that.
A family of 4 could expect to pay $125-$145 at a table service restaurant an $55 to $65 at quick service restaurants.
Character meals range from about $45 to $55 per person.
Are tips included with the Disney Dining Plans?
No, but you won’t have to pay sales tax. At table service restaurants, a gratuity of 15% to 20% of the total bill is customary.
Even though you’re not paying out of pocket, total is still provided so you can determine what to leave for a tip.
Keeping track of your dining plan credits
Each time you redeem meal credits, the number of remaining entitlements will be printed on a receipt for you. You can also view your remaining credits in the My Disney Experience app.
Where to redeem dining plan credits
Almost every Walt Disney World restaurant accepts the Disney dining plans and most menu items are in included.
Do I need to make dining reservations in advance?
Yes, restaurants at Walt Disney World are extremely popular. Dining reservations become available to you 60-days prior to your check in date.
Are character meals included with the dining plans?
Yes, most character meals count as one table service credit but there are a few, like Cinderella’s Royal Table that costs 2 table service credits.
Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review is included as well.
Using 2 table service credits for Disney World Signature restaurants
There is a small number of fine dining restaurants at Walt Disney World known as Signature Restaurants. Dining at restaurants like California Grill or Be Our Guest Restaurant will cost 2 table service credits because they are upgrade experiences.
Generally speaking, you would be better off paying out of pocket that using 2 credits. Signature restaurants are expensive, but not 2-table service credits expensive.
Can I use 2 quick service credits for 1 table service meal?
No. Quick service meal entitlements can only be used on quick service dining.

Beware of Disney Gift Card Scams
How to protect yourself from this Disney Gift Card scam
By Darren Wittko
It’s no surprise that Disney vacations are pricey and while I believe you get what you pay for, it helps to save money anywhere you can. Disney Gift Cards can often be purchased for amounts less than their printed value at stores like Target and BJ’s Wholesale.
Disney Destinations allows you to pay for your vacation using Disney Gift Cards so purchasing them at a discount is a nice little hack to get extra savings.
Here’s what happened to me. I had planned a Disney cruise for my family and purchased several gift cards at BJ’s Wholesale Club.
I saved about 5% on $3,000 worth of gift cards - close to $150. Not a big savings, all things considered, but it seemed worth it at the time.
A few days later I went to apply payment to our reservation and discovered that six of the gift cards, each with $100 on them, had a zero balance.
I immediately returned to BJ’s figuring my gift cards hadn’t been activated properly. After a lot of back and forth with the store manager and Disney, it was determined my cards had already been redeemed - I was scammed!
So how did this happen?
There have been numerous scams reported with gift cards, not just with Disney, and according to the FBI, scams are on the rise and getting more sophisticated.
The More Simple Scam
There are numerous scams fraudsters use to gain gift card numbers, many are pretty high-tech.
But the simplest method is just taking the cards off the rack in the store. These are the cards that are accessible to everyone.
The scammer writes down the gift card numbers and scratches off the security strip on the back of the cards to get the security codes.
The scammer then puts replacement strips over the security codes and then sneaks them back into the store. Replacement strips are available online.
Sammers can replace the security code with products easily found online.
Later, after you buy one of those cards and load money onto it, the scammer gets an instant alert that tells him that the funds have been loaded onto the card.
According to the FBI, the scammer knows as soon as someone activates the card, because they use automated software that periodically checks the card balance via the internet, this is called pinging.
If he’s a low-tech thief, he just checks the Disney gift card website every day until he sees funds have been added.
And if you haven’t activated your gift card yet, he takes the funds.
What does the scammer do with the gift cards?
He can sell the cards to companies that purchase gift cards for a reduced rate, such as raise.com. These sites exist for those who get gift cards but would rather trade them in instead of redeeming them.
Perfect for when you get that gift card to the Jelly of the Month Club.
For example, a company might offer $75 on a $100 gift card.
But to the scammer, that's an easy profit of $75.
The scammer can also launder the money through online classified sites like Craigslist or eBay for legitimate products they purchased from the Disney Store.
How to Protect Yourself from Gift Card Fraud
Buy gift cards online directly from the retailer. Criminals do not have easy access to those cards. Buy online especially if you're purchasing a high-value gift card.
Don't buy in-store racked cards with easily accessible numbers and PINs. If you buy in a retail store, look for gift cards kept behind the counter or in well-sealed packaging.
If possible, change the security code as soon as you buy the card. Register the gift card when you get home and change the PIN.
If you are purchasing numerous gift cards, consolidate them down to one card as soon as possible, and change the primary card’s PIN. With Disney Gift Cards, you can transfer as much as $1,000 onto one card. And be sure to redeem that card as soon as possible!

Guests who change their tickets to a date that has a higher price point will have to pay the difference prior to park entry.

Universal Orlando Announces Plans for Two New Hotels
Universal Orlando has announced the upcoming addition of two new hotel properties to their impressive portfolio.
Universal Orlando Resort has exciting news for travelers!
They have announced the upcoming addition of two new hotel properties to their impressive portfolio.
Both hotels, Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort, are scheduled to open their doors in 2025.
These fantastic accommodations will join the prestigious lineup of Universal Orlando hotels, most of which are co-owned by Loews Hotel & Co.
Each of these new hotels will offer 750 guest rooms, falling into the resort's Prime Value category.
With these additions, the total number of guest rooms across the destination will reach an impressive 10,500.
This increased capacity offers trade partners an even wider range of options to offer their clients, expanding beyond the current eight existing Universal Orlando hotels.
Universal Stella Nova Resort is designed to evoke the awe and wonder of distant galaxies, new stars, and mysterious black holes.
On the other hand, Universal Terra Luna Resort draws inspiration from the vast and diverse elements found within our universe's planets.
These unique themes give guests and clients even more opportunities to experience unforgettable vacations at Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay.
Starting in January 2025, Universal Stella Nova Resort will welcome its first guests, followed by the opening of Universal Terra Luna Resort in February 2025.
Travelers who choose to stay at these new properties or any of the other Universal Orlando hotels will enjoy exclusive theme park benefits.
These perks include early park admission, allowing guests access to one of the three theme parks up to an hour before they officially open.
Additionally, guests can take advantage of complimentary transportation to and from the parks, as well as resort-wide charging privileges.
Excitingly, both Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort will be conveniently located adjacent to the future site of the highly anticipated Universal Epic Universe theme park, slated to open later in 2025.
Guests will have easy access to Universal Orlando's current theme parks and Universal CityWalk through complimentary shuttles, making it even easier to explore and enjoy all that the destination has to offer.

This is How Disney World Does Christmas
Starting the day after Halloween, the Walt Disney World Resort wastes no time getting into the Christmas spirit, and within a few days, the parks, hotels, and even Disney Spring are adorned with Christmas decorations.
Starting the day after Halloween, the Walt Disney World Resort wastes no time getting into the Christmas spirit, and within a few days, the parks, hotels, and even Disney Spring are adorned with Christmas decorations.
So come along with me as I tour some of my favorite Christmas displays at Walt Disney World. I’ll start out in the Epcot Resort area and end at my all-time favorite place in Disney World.
Disney's Yacht Club Resort
For the first time, Disney's Yacht Club Resort is showcasing its own gingerbread display.
This year, it's a gingerbread lighthouse inspired by the real lighthouse located outside the resort along Crescent Lake.
It’s made completely out of gingerbread shingles and complete with a strobe light at the top. I think I would have used a different light, as this looks like lightning.
The lights are turned down low in the Yacht Club’s lobby so you can enjoy the miniature Christmas village and of course, it's surrounded by a train.
Walt would be proud! There’s a of hidden detail in there including several Disney characters.
I hear the Beach Club lobby Carousel is themed to Ducktales this year so let’s take a walk over and check it out.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Here it is. Beach Club's famous carousel actually rotates – how cool is that! This year, this gingerbread creation has horses with Donald Duck’s nephews, Huey, Duey, and Louie.
The Gingerbread Carousel is made with over 1,000 pounds of gingerbread and 700 pounds of royal icing.
It takes a team of pastry chefs over three weeks to design and construct the display which is 16 feet tall, 14 feet wide and has 22 hidden Mickeys.
It is one of the largest gingerbread displays at Walt Disney World.
I love the Spaceship Earth model at the top, I have the same one in my office, but mine doesn’t have the Ducktales sign of course.
And speaking of Epcot, I’ll be heading over there soon, but first, there’s one more display to check out.
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
Disney's Boardwalk Inn is known for its charming seaside atmosphere, and during the holiday season, it's transformed into a winter wonderland with festive decorations that capture the spirit of the season.
This year's display is a replica of BoardWalk Deli, complete with a gingerbread storefront and even a gingerbread Chef Mickey.
And if you look inside the bakery, you’ll see miniature canisters of baking ingredients and even tiny Christmas cookies.
Epcot
Here at EPCOT, The International Festival of the Holidays is underway.
I think Epcot is the best park to experience the magic of the holiday season with its festive food, meet-and-greet with Santa, and special Christmas events, like the Candlelight Processional, the World Showcase holiday storytellers and musical performances.
But on this visit, I’m just here for a sampling of the decorations resort-wide. Just know that Epcot during the holidays is an entire day all by itself. I’ll link to all the holiday activities at Epcot in the description below.
In World Showcase, the Germany Pavilion is not to be missed of course with elaborate garland and Christmas lights.
Don’t forget to stop and get a glass pickle ornament for your Christmas tree.
It’s a great German tradition where a pickle ornament is hidden on the tree and the first person to find it, will have good luck for the rest of the year.
Also, the American Adventure is especially beautiful at Christmas, inside and out. The rotunda is adorned with garlands and bows.
And of course, while you’re here you can catch the Voices of Liberty perform of traditional Christmas carols like Deck the Halls and Silent Night.
Adding to the festivities are the holiday storytellers around World Showcase.
Many of the World Showcase countries have lively storytellers who share their traditions and legends of the season.
Christmas cookies are found throughout Epcot but the Odyssey Pavilion has two of my favorites.
Watch my video tour of the Christmas decorations at Walt Disney World on YouTube >
A Spaceship Earth sandwich cookie and a striped peppermint cookie. This is also where you can meet Santa so the Odyssey pavilion is a must-do.
With the Epcot resort area pretty well covered, it’s time to head out of Epcot to the Monorail and continue our tour of the Magic Kingdom and the resort hotels.
Us, there’s not much happening at the Polynesian Resort during the holidays so we will skip that today.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
The Grand Floridian Gingerbread House is an annual tradition at the Walt Disney World Resort.
It is one of the most popular gingerbread houses in the world, and it is a must-see for any Disney fan visiting during the holiday season.
The gingerbread house is made with over 350 pounds of gingerbread dough, 700 pounds of icing, and 300 pounds of candy. It takes a team of pastry chefs over three weeks to design and construct the display.
The gingerbread house is typically on display from early November to early January.
In addition to the gingerbread house, the lobby of the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is also decorated for the holidays, with garlands, wreaths, and poinsettias.
There is also a life-sized chocolate Santa Claus, nutcrackers, toy soldiers, and snowmen that have all been hand-painted by the Grand Floridian Bakery team.
Magic Kingdom
Back on the monorail to Magic Kingdom for some of the most elaborate decorations at Disney.
Exploring all there is to do at Magic Kingdom including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is another article, but let’s check out some of the best decorations in the park.
Main Street, U.S.A. is the first area you enter at Magic Kingdom, of course, and it is also home to some of the most elaborate Christmas decorations.
The street is lined with garlands, wreaths, and lampposts adorned with festive decorations.
There is also a towering Christmas tree in the center of the town square.
The Magic Kingdom Christmas tree is a true giant, reaching an impressive height of 65 feet and adorned with thousands of twinkling lights.
The tree is made up of hundreds of individual branches that are carefully arranged to create a symmetrical and visually appealing shape.
The Jungle Cruise is transformed into a holiday-themed attraction called "Jungle Cruise Holiday." many of the scenes have been decorated for Christmas and there’s even a special skipper script.
The Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe is a must-visit for any Disney fan, and it is filled with holiday ornaments, stockings, and other goodies.
The rest of the park doesn’t really have to many decorations so I think it’s time to check out another Disney World resort hotel. And great news, we can take the monorail again.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Heading to Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we’ll see another gingerbread display.
While this particular display is smaller than the others, you can usually find a few hidden Mickeys or perhaps even a 5-legged goat - it’s hard to explain.
Depictions of goats with 5 legs are a thing at the Contemporary Resort.
The other reason I wanted to stop at the Contemporary is because I can catch the boat here to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort.
The king of Christmas decor at Walt Disney World.
Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort
No matter what time of year you visit Wilderness Lodge it feels like Christmas because it looks like one big gingerbread house.
So of course it really stands out above the rest during the actual Christmas season.
Throughout the lobby, you’ll find rocking chairs, warm fireplaces, and one of the most beautiful trees at Disney.
The tree has thousands of lights and hundreds of rustic ornaments.
Check out the holiday pop-up shop in the lobby that sells festive adult beverages, hot chocolate, cookies, and even Disney merch like Mickey ears and coffee mugs.

Disney+ Subscribers Will Get a Disney World Deal Starting January 3, 2024.
Disney World dropped a hint that a new deal is coming for Disney+ subscribers.
The Walt Disney World Resort hinted that a new deal is coming just for Disney+ subscribers.
“Today, Disney+ shared that a special deal is coming to Walt Disney World just for Disney+ Subscribers beginning Jan. 3. We look forward [to] sharing more details in January.”
Disney+ offers for Disney World have become a regular thing. Offers we available for summer and fall of 2023.
Currently, there is a Disney+ subscriber offer available for Walt Disney World through December 25, 2023.
The first Disney+ offers are aimed at getting new subscribers but on the Disney World side, it’s a decent offer.
Yes, better than the standard offers available to the general public in the beginning. However, after the first week or so, the Disney+ subscriber offer seems to get scaled back and ends up being about the same as the broad discount offers. Or the offer becomes very limited.
This means you should book when the offer is released.
If you’re already booked with me, be sure to let me know you subscribe to Disney+ so I can check for a better rate.
I can also help you determine which is the better deal because there are a few to choose from. View them all here >
I’ll post all the offer details as soon as they become available on the offers page. Stay tuned.

Epcot will Reveal "Walt the Dreamer" and "Luminous" on December 5, 2023
World Celebration Gardens, ‘Walt the Dreamer’ and “Luminous The Symphony of Us” begin Dec. 5, Walt Disney’s birthday.
To commemorate Walt Disney's birthday on December 5th, guests at EPCOT can explore Dreamers Point in the soon-to-be-opened World Celebration neighborhood.
This area of Epcot has been behind walls since 2020.
Here, they will have the opportunity to see the original dreamer, Walt Disney himself, in a fresh and inspiring way.
Visitors are invited to join Walt in his imagination and take in the breathtaking views of World Celebration Gardens.
The brand-new statue, titled "Walt the Dreamer," portrays Walt during a later stage of his life when he was envisioning the grand Florida Project and the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow (EPCOT).
Sitting contentedly, he relishes the fulfillment of his dreams, reveling in the beauty of his realized vision: a park that embodies boundless optimism and truly honors the enchantment of potential.
“Walt the Dreamer” at Epcot
Dreamers Point is named not only for Walt Disney, the dreamer who has and continues to inspire us, but also all guests who visit EPCOT to celebrate the endless potential and possibility of the legacy that Walt has left behind.
Luminous The Symphony of Us – Starting December 5, 2023
Experience the joy of a captivating spectacle meticulously crafted to unite us all.
Witness an awe-inspiring extravaganza showcasing a stunning combination of fireworks, fountains, harmonious melodies, and breathtaking illuminations, all harmoniously synchronized to an original score.
As fresh compositions intertwine with emotive renditions from the renowned Disney songbook, be reminded that our similarities far outweigh our differences, forging the undeniable bond that unites us as one.
I will be there on December to see the new show. Stay tuned for the video and a possible live-stream.

Icon of the Seas will sail from Turku to Cadiz, Spain, where the cruise line will start to put the finishing touches on the ship before it heads to Miami.
Starting Wednesday, Nov. 29, travelers can follow Icon’s journey by visiting Royal Caribbean’s website.
Whether “family vacation” means getting away as a family, couple or friends, Icon will feature firsts and next-level favorites for everyone to make memories their way every day across eight neighborhoods.
There are adrenaline-pumping thrills, unrivaled ways to chill, more than 40 ways to dine and drink, cutting-edge entertainment across the cruise line’s four signature stages—air, ice, water, and theater—and more.
There are also 28 different stateroom categories, including the new three-level Ultimate Family Townhouse; rooms are thoughtfully designed for every type of vacationer.
The five brand-new neighborhoods and three reimagined favorites are destinations in themselves filled with a variety of experiences, live entertainment, restaurants and bars, including:
Thrill Island:
The new center of thrill features
Category 6 - the largest waterpark at sea, with six record-breaking slides
Crown’s Edge - part skywalk, part ropes course, and part thrill ride on which adventurers swing 154 feet above the ocean
FlowRider simulator
Lost Dunes minigolf course and more.
Chill Island:
Four of the seven pools on Icon are at this three-deck neighborhood, each with a unique vibe and prime ocean views: the lively Swim & Tonic, the cruise line’s first swim-up bar at sea; Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea; Cloud 17, an adults-only retreat; and the infinity-edge Cove Pool.
With different tunes from live bands and DJs, and poolside spots for drinks and quick, casual food—such as The Lime & Coconut and its new frozen cocktail bar, and El Loco Fresh & Cantina Fresca—vacationers can chill day and night.
Surfside:
Introducing the first neighborhood made for young families.
Adults and kids can stay and play all day between ways to splash, like at the new Water’s Edge pool for grownups nearby Baby Bay and the Splashaway Bay aquapark for kids, and new dedicated dining options such as the Surfside Eatery buffet, Pier 7 for all-day brunch.
AquaDome:
A tranquil oasis by day and a vibrant hot spot at night, the new neighborhood is filled with wraparound ocean views, new and returning restaurants and bars, a 55-foot-tall water curtain, and the next-level AquaTheater, which will introduce the first cast of robots, skateboarders, divers and more.
This area includes Royal Caribbean’s first food hall, AquaDome Market, and Rye & Bean—a new bar for lattes and coffee-infused cocktails—plus a new Overlook bar and pods, and the cruise line’s marquee aqua shows.
The Hideaway:
Tucked away and sitting 135 feet above the ocean is a new neighborhood that combines the good vibes of beach club scenes around the world.
The first suspended infinity pool at sea is at the center of it all, and it has 180-degree ocean views that make it the perfect place to watch sunsets from the point of view only a cruise can offer as vacationers enjoy the dedicated DJ and bar.
Royal Promenade:
The heartbeat of Icon, this neighborhood has more than 15 restaurants, bars and lounges, including Dueling Pianos, Royal Caribbean’s first dueling pianos bar; the new 1400 Lobby Bar, inspired by the history of shipbuilding, with an ocean-facing terrace that opens the reimagined neighborhood to the outdoors for the first time ever.
Central Park:
Lusher and livelier than ever, this open-air neighborhood is reimagined with more ways to dine, drink, and be entertained. Thousands of real plants line new experiences and favorites include the popular Izumi, with a new location and a walkup window; and American steakhouse Chops Grille.
Making their debut are spots like Empire Supper Club, an extravagant experience that pairs eight courses with wine, cocktails and music; and Lou’s Jazz ‘n Blues, for live performances of soulful jazz, jazzy pop music and more.
Suite Neighborhood:
Spanning four decks, Royal Caribbean’s most expansive Suite Neighborhood features larger suites, including the new Grove Suite Sun Deck, complete with a private pool, whirlpool, and dedicated Mediterranean dining; and a new two-level Coastal Kitchen with views of the AquaDome and the ocean.
Icon is also the cruise line’s first ship that can be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), a transitional fuel.
The dual-fuel engines will work alongside a lineup of energy efficiency initiatives and industry-leading environmental programs on board, like the first waste-to-energy plant at sea.
Twenty-four percent more energy efficient than the standards required for ships being designed today, Icon is Royal Caribbean’s most sustainable ship, marking the next step in parent company Royal Caribbean Group's journey to introduce a net-zero cruise ship by 2035.
